About Us

In the autumn of 1998, we started a short series of jazz concerts in church, with encouragement from our then vicar, David Tuck. Various musicians played for us, amongst them Humphrey Lyttelton and Martin Klute. We did not expect that annual jazz seasons would be going from strength to strength in Pinner Parish Church so many years later! Welcome...

The Magnificent Seven Jazz Band pays tribute to Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball

10/12/2016, 20:00

The band’s title says it all and what better precursor to the joys of the Christmas season? Rest assured, these musicians know just how to create a festive mood as they put across their time-honoured numbers. Co-leaders Amy Roberts [flute, clarinet & saxophone] and Richard Exall [tenor & alto saxophones] played for us with Chris Barber, now they’re complemented by the stalwart trombonist Ian Bateman [previously here with his own band and with Acker Bilk] and the superb trumpeter Mike ‘Magic’ Henry who we also know from earlier visits to Pinner with both Chris Barber and Keith Nichols, plus Craig Milverton, piano, Bill Coleman, bass, and drummer Nick Milward.

Karen Sharp's Quartet was oustanding; brilliant support from Nikki, Dave and Steve. A wonderful evening. - Michael Wright

I would just like to say thanks for a brilliant evening in the wonderful, informal atmosphere at Pinner Jazz last night. Christian Brewer’s quintet was simply amazing. Sitting in the second row we felt completely immersed in all the outstanding performances. - M.R.

Another wonderful evening of jazz at Pinner Parish Church. The (Magnificent Seven) musicians were outstanding. - R.M.
